This Richardson, TX, home is undergoing a major whole-house renovation. The home was built in 1959. The homeowners have been in the home for 41 years and plan to live here for many, many more, so it’s in need of an update to take it into the future! The house was dated and dark with scalloped molding, wood paneling, old carpet, isolated rooms and an old, tired kitchen.
Our plans entail a total interior renovation. The couple desired a whole new open concept kitchen and space for entertaining. They wanted a better flow and easier mobility through the kitchen living room and game room. We renewed most of this Richardson, TX house remodel and the result is an award winning total makeover!
The Before
Each of the public spaces were isolated from each other. The game room was a garage that had been converted to living space many years ago. A narrow galley kitchen lacked counter space and the double oven that the client really wanted. The clients were not using the large bar in the game room. The laundry space configuration was not working for the them either.
We created large opening to connect the kitchen to the living room and gameroom. The kitchen was enlarged and features an eat-in island and vegetable sink that the client desired. The bulky fireplace and wall was removed between the atrium and family room letting in natural light. We created a coffee bar and desk space that she wanted along with reconfiguring the powder bath and laundry and storage spaces. 
These clients are thrilled with their whole home renovation and we are too!
