Determining How Much Your Dallas Kitchen Remodel Will Cost

A Guide to Kitchen Remodeling Costs in Dallas, TX & Surrounding Areas

At Hatfield (now Alair Homes- Plano) Builders & Remodelers, we pride ourselves on redesigning outdated kitchens throughout Dallas, Plano, Richardson, and other areas in Texas. We love creating one-of-a-kind spaces that families can utilize and enjoy for years to come.

One question we often hear from potential remodeling clients is, “How much does a kitchen remodel cost?

This, of course, is a natural question to ask so that you can budget the appropriate amount for the project at hand. Unfortunately, an estimate isn’t straightforward because there is no one average cost for all remodels—calculating the overall price depends on all kinds of factors, from basic construction issues to cabinet choices, countertop choices, and much more.

However, for the sake of providing a tentative (and subject to change!) guideline, we’ve outlined the average cost for three types of kitchen redesign projects in the Dallas area.

Contact our team at Hatfield (now Alair Homes- Plano) to schedule a consultation today! We’re ready to answer any questions you have!

A Basic Kitchen Refresh: Examples

Kitchen Remodel Example: After

As you can see in the before-and-after example above, a “basic” kitchen remodel, which has an average cost of about $35,000 to $55,000, doesn’t have to be a boring one by any means! This type of kitchen remodel generally keeps the same layout that your kitchen already has. By keeping big-ticket items like appliances and cabinets, you will save money so you can spend on other items to get the look you want.

If you do choose to keep and use your existing cabinets, we’ll repaint or refinish them to update the appearance of your kitchen. Installing completely new cabinets generally runs you at least twice as much as refacing.

That said, these simple kitchen refreshes can include things that completely transform your space, such as updated:

  • Lighting
  • Backsplashes
  • Flooring
  • Cabinet re-finishing or painting
  • Countertops
  • Wall paint
  • Fixtures, like a new sink and faucet

Depending on the look you want, we can also incorporate other stylish details and décor (like glass cabinet doors, chandeliers, etc.) to make your space look new again while keeping your budget in this lower range.

Mid-Range Kitchen Remodel: Examples

Mid-Range Kitchen Remodel Example: After

If your current kitchen’s layout doesn’t suit your family’s needs, you’ll probably be more interested in either a mid-range kitchen remodel or a deluxe kitchen redesign (more about that below). These remodels have an average cost of about $55,000 to $90,000.

This sort of remodel restructures your space to fit your lifestyle, meaning that:

  • The layout can be altered.
  • Both the electrical and plumbing systems can be reworked to properly function within the new kitchen design.

Depending on the size of the space, we may be able to take down walls to give you that open feel you want. Mid-range kitchen remodels may also include appliance upgrades, from stainless steel refrigerators to stacked double ovens and more. This is also where you’d see something like a custom island (which you can see in the “after” photo above) being built into your space as a beautiful, practical centerpiece for your kitchen.

A mid-range kitchen remodel will typically also include:

  • New cabinetry
  • Modern plumbing fixtures
  • High-end hardware
  • Wood, stone, or porcelain flooring
  • Stone or quartz counters
  • Glass tile backsplashes
  • Customized storage solutions
  • New decorative and task lighting

And of course, we’ll still include any other decorative details you want throughout the kitchen to refresh the space and reflect your style.

A Deluxe Kitchen Redesign & Remodel: Examples

Deluxe Kitchen Remodel Example: After

Consider this a complete and total scrap of your old kitchen and probably your adjacent living areas as we transform it into the new-and-improved space you’ve always dreamed of!

You can see that in the example above, where we moved the kitchen sink, switched up the dishwasher’s location, added in custom cabinetry and storage solutions, added in a high-end cooktop, and designed a whole new kitchen island (just to name a few things we did with this redesign project).

This sort of complete kitchen redesign usually starts at around $100,000 and goes up from there. It typically includes:

  • Custom cabinetry and customized storage solutions
  • Elegant flooring and countertop materials (wood flooring, stone countertops, etc.)
  • Glass backsplash
  • High-end, stainless steel appliances fit for a chef
  • Built-in appliances (like refrigerators and dishwashers) that blend in with your cabinetry

And of course, we’ll ensure that every aspect of your new kitchen is breathtakingly beautiful, down to the tiniest, most exquisite details.

When it comes to a premium redesign like this, your wish is our command! Whatever you’ve envisioned (whether you’ve bookmarked it in a home design magazine, saw it on HGTV, or saved it on Pinterest), we’ll work with you to make it happen, regardless of your kitchen’s current design.
