Rue Du Lac Kitchen Remodel

The Preston Hollow, Dallas, TX kitchen remodel homeowners of this 1978 house wanted to transform the dark, outdated kitchen to a transitional clean-lined oasis that would showcase the amazing lake and fountain views the home backs to. The homeowners had very specific desires to open up the space and create a transitional style space that would flow with the rest of the home in a natural way.  To take full advantage of the stunning views from the kitchen, walls would need to be removed.  Upon entering the front door, 15’ of solid stone fireplace stood directly in front, blocking all views to the lake-facing windows in the living area and creating a crowded narrow entry point to the kitchen. Our Plano, TX award winning design team reconfigured the entire living and kitchen spaces.  The client loves to entertain and we created an area that would serve as a seat to sip a glass of wine and serve as a gracious hosting spot. To concede this guest friendly amenity, the kitchen space was opened up and a large island with bar level seating and ample storage was designed. To create more functional storage, the pantry was relocated to an unused closet space in the hallway, a door way was moved to allow direct access to the new pantry and more cabinet storage along walls and in the island were installed. Content knowing structural integrity and quality craftsmanship exist, the homeowners can focus on the aesthetic appeal of the details. The kitchen features Thermador stainless steel appliances, trendy grey-stained hardwoods, exotic Fumo di Londra granite and Wellborn white shaker cabinetry.  The finer details such as Jeffrey Alexander hardware, lighting in the upper cabinet and glass subway tile by Eleganza create a unique open transitional kitchen space that is still able to mesh with the entire home and be enjoyed for a lifetime.  This Dallas, TX, Preston Hollow kitchen remodel allows this home to showcase its true potential.
