Team Hatfield (now Alair Homes- Plano) Adds Two New Designers: Meet Megan Cacace & Melanie Sweaney

Talent is something that is plentiful at Hatfield (now Alair Homes- Plano) Builders & Remodelers, and Team Hatfield (now Alair Homes- Plano) just upped its talent quotient considerably with the addition to two new full-time designers to the staff! Meet Megan and Melanie!

Megan Cacace, Project Designer

Megan Megan grew up in Houston and attended the University of North Texas. As project designer, her responsibilities include space planning, working with clients during design consultations to make decisions on material selections, and much more. “My ability to talk to and relate to people is my greatest strength,” says Megan. She appreciates the education and experience levels of all the Hatfield (now Alair Homes- Plano) team members, and the high standards and professionalism that the company produces throughout the design build process.

Megan describes herself as “a summer kind of girl” who prefers to be on the lake or at the pool, but will never turn down a trip to go snowboarding! She also loves to travel, and enjoys being crafty and doing Pinterest projects in her downtime. She even has a side business where she designs custom artwork, nursery artwork and growth charts, and wood signs.

The light of Megan’s life is her almost-two-year-old son, Knox. “Watching him grow over the past two years has been the most amazing experience of my life!” she says. “I want to be successful in all the areas of my life but to have a happy family is my ultimate goal. Family has always been and will always be my Number 1!”

Megan loves good Mexican food (Salsa Tex Mex in Frisco is currently her top pick), and her favorite TV show is The Voice. When asked about the one piece of advice she would give others about life, she says, “Appreciate the opportunities you receive and the things you have, learn from your mistakes and grow stronger.”

Melanie Sweaney, Project Designer

MelanieMelanie hails from Southern California and completed the Interior Design Program at the University of California. As project designer, her responsibilities include design consultations, space planning, selections, cabinetry details and much more. She has a special interest in cabinetry design, and appreciates how knowledgeable everyone on the Hatfield (now Alair Homes- Plano) team is. “I learn so much every day,” she says.

Melanie and her husband, Scot, have been married for three years. “Scot is a top-producing Real Estate Agent but was an Architect many years ago, which is why we have a garage full of bendable rulers, drafting tables and electric erasers,” she jokes. In her downtime, she enjoys cooking, wine tasting, yoga, and going to the dog park with her rescue dog, a Papitese (Papillon/Maltese) named Lily.

Melanie is proudest of her family. “I could not be more blessed. I love them all so much,” she says. “My Dad was a traveling hippy and met my Mom in South America. They have been together almost 40 years despite the fact they were not able to communicate when they first got married. It must have been true love. I have one Sister who is an Environmental Engineer in Southern California who makes sure the oceans are not being polluted and does environmental lab work to protect the ports. She is all math and science and I am all creativity and design. We balance each other out and help each other. She is my best friend.”

Melanie’s favorite place to dine out is the Cheesecake Factory, and her favorite TV shows are The Wendy Williams Show (“I love to record it and binge-watch it on the weekends while I am cooking and cleaning. It’s my girl time!”) and Seinfeld. If she could go anywhere for a day, she would go to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris and blow bubbles while drinking expensive French wine.
